I am a textile and fashion retail professional with more than 30 years of experience in buying, merchandising, sourcing, pricing and product development. My career has allowed me to work closely with Indian sarees, fabrics, artisan communities, weaving clusters and changing consumer preferences. Alongside my retail experience, I have studied textile technology, fashion management, computer applications and business analytics. I am currently pursuing doctoral research on using artificial intelligence to identify the geographical origin of Indian sarees. Through My Textile Notes, I share what I have learned about fabrics, traditional textiles, handlooms, sarees, retail and technology. I enjoy connecting the knowledge of craftspeople with data, research and modern business practices. This blog is my attempt to document textile knowledge, make complex subjects easier to understand, and celebrate the remarkable diversity of India’s textile traditions.
